Privacy Policy

We collect only what the product needs to work:

• Account information — your email address, and your display name if you provide one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile from Google; we never receive your Google password.
• Content you provide — resume text and files you upload, job descriptions, cover letters, LinkedIn content, interview answers, flashcards, and the job applications you track. This is the material you ask our tools to work on.
• Usage and diagnostic data — anonymized product analytics (which features are used) and error reports, used to fix bugs and improve the product. We also process your IP address transiently to rate-limit our AI endpoints and prevent abuse.

We do not collect payment information — Ergent is free during early access, and no payment provider is connected.

• To provide the tools you request — scoring, generating, and analyzing your content.
• To save your work (resumes, scores, applications, interview history) to your account so it's there when you return.
• To secure the service, enforce fair-use limits, and diagnose and fix problems.
• To respond to feedback or support requests you send us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your resume or account data for advertising.

To run Ergent we share the minimum necessary data with a small number of processors who act on our behalf:

• Anthropic — the text of your resume and job descriptions is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate scores, suggestions, and drafts. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
• Supabase — authentication and our database, where your account and saved content are stored.
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the application.
• PostHog — privacy-conscious product analytics.
• Sentry — error monitoring so we can catch and fix crashes.

These providers may process data in regions outside your own. We rely on their standard contractual protections for any such transfers.

We keep your content for as long as your account is active so it remains available to you. You can delete all of your resumes, ATS scores, and tracked applications at any time from Settings → Clear all my data. If you'd like your account itself removed, contact us and we'll delete it and the data associated with it.

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function — chiefly to keep you signed in. We also use analytics that may set cookies to understand aggregate usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your saved content is enforced at the database level by row-level security, so one account cannot read another's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Ergent is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
