Terms of Service

Last updated July 20, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Ergent (“we”, “us”) covering your use of ergent.app and its tools. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ergent.

What Ergent is

Ergent provides AI-assisted tools for job seekers: resume ATS scoring, resume optimization and building, job-description tailoring, cover letters, LinkedIn optimization, interview practice, and application tracking. The tools produce guidance and drafts to help you — they are aids, not guarantees.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information when signing up, and let us know if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be at least 16 years old to use Ergent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
  • Upload content you don't have the right to use, or anyone else's personal data without their permission.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits or security of the service.
  • Resell or repackage the service or its AI output as your own product.

Fair-use limits apply to AI generations to keep the service available and affordable for everyone. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your resumes, job descriptions, answers, and other content. You grant us a limited license to process and store that content solely to provide the service to you (including sending relevant text to our AI provider to generate results, as described in our Privacy Policy). We don't claim ownership of your content and don't use it to train AI models.

AI output — no guarantees

Ergent's scores, suggestions, and generated text are produced by AI and can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. ATS scores are estimates modeled on common applicant tracking behavior; they are not readings from any specific employer's system, and a high score does not guarantee an interview, a job, or that any particular ATS will parse your resume a certain way. Always review AI output before you rely on or submit it. You are responsible for the final content you send to employers.

Pricing and early access

Ergent is currently free during early access. Pricing shown on the Pricing page reflects what paid plans are expected to cost at launch. We'll give early-access users notice before introducing charges, and no payment method is collected today.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ergent and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost opportunities, jobs, or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — which, during free early access, is zero.

Termination

You can stop using Ergent and delete your data at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we're required to act on for legal or security reasons.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. When we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Ergent after an update means you accept the revised terms.
