Resume builder for freshers
Your first resume, built to be read
Without much work experience, what you put first matters. Ergent’s Fresher template leads with education and projects, every template is single-column and ATS-safe, and the editor helps you turn coursework and internships into specific bullets.

Why it matters
Without years of experience, a recruiter looks for evidence elsewhere: what you studied, what you built and how you worked with others. A resume that leads with an empty-looking Experience section undersells you; one that puts education and projects first, with specific results, gives them something to say yes to.
What to put on a fresher resume
- Education first: degree, institution, year, and relevant coursework if it matches the job
- Projects: what you built, the tools you used and what it did — link the code or demo if you can
- Internships, part-time work and campus roles, written as results rather than duties
- Skills you can back up in an interview, grouped (languages, tools, methods)
- Certifications that relate to the role
Bullet patterns that work without experience
Fill the [brackets] with your own details — never numbers you can’t explain.
- Built [what] using [tools] to [purpose]; [result, if you measured one]
- Analysed [data] to find [insight]; presented it to [audience]
- Led [team of N] to deliver [project] by [deadline]
Then check it
Run the finished resume through the ATS check against a real job description to see what a parser reads and which of the job’s keywords you show.
Common mistakes on a first resume
- An objective statement about what you want, instead of a summary of what you can do
- Listing every course rather than the few that match the job
- Projects described by topic (“E-commerce website”) rather than by what you built and what it did
- Skills you’ve only read about, which an interviewer will ask you to explain
- Two pages for very little content — one well-filled page reads better
Who it’s for
- Students and recent graduates
- Interns turning internships into a first full-time resume

Why Ergent
- AI that sticks to your factsRewrites and letters work from your resume. Claims it can’t find there are flagged, and missing details become [prompts] for you — not invented numbers.
- Scores that explain themselvesEvery score comes with the reasons, the parsed text and ranked fixes. No percentiles or “better than 87% of applicants”.
- Specific to each jobPaste the job description and the check, the tailoring, the letter and the interview questions are all written for that job.
- Interview practice from your own resumeQuestions come from the job and your experience, and feedback points to what you could have mentioned from your resume.
- One workspace, start to finishResume versions, job descriptions, letters, applications and interview prep stay connected, so you don’t paste the same things five times.
Questions
- Should a fresher resume be one page?
- Usually, yes. The Fresher and Compact templates help it fit; if it runs over, the editor shows exactly where the page breaks.
- Can I add a photo?
- You can, and it’s off by default. Many employers — especially in the US and UK — prefer no photo, and some parsers ignore images.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Every tool works on the Free plan. Without an account you get 10 AI requests an hour; a free account gets 60 an hour and saves your work. Pro only raises the limits.
